We have 8 hectares behind the stables, next to the house. We have made
6 paddocks with electric fencing. Because all the paddocks are adjoining,
we can open them up to make one big field giving the horses a very large
area to run over.
Three of the hectares have a little brook in the middle. A few minutes
walk from home, we have another hectare. The bottom fields are heavy
clay and uphill the ground is rocky with a thin clay covering which can
be very slippery. The horses learn very fast how to keep themselves out
of trouble. A part of the fields is surrounded by woods which provide
shade and a wind break.
